INFLUENCE OF THE FREEZING OF CLAYEY SOIL ON SUBGRADE STABILITY

It is known that frost acting on clayey soil causes numerous problems of highway engineers. Based on practical experience and results of numerous tests, a table is presented describing the behaviour of clayey soil when attacked by frost under different conditions. Recommendations are put forward for the prevention of harmful effects. /TRRL/
