ROUGHNESS OF BITUMINOUS SURFACINGS
CERCETARI PRIVIND RUGOZITATEA IMBRACAMINTILOR ASFALTICE RUTIERE
An attempt is made by the authors to find the best possible technique of constructing non skid surfacings. Details are given of the mix design of mixtures studied in the laboratory, basalt aggregates, 2317 kg/sq.cm compressive strength, suitable shape and particle size distribution, sand, filler and bitumen. The influence of the various ingredients on roughness is described together with tests on the spreading of precoated chippings, and coefficient of friction and roughness obtained. /TRRL/
