A MARINE ELECTRICAL ANALOG-TYPE DEAD RECKONING COMPUTER
The device described accepts ship's speed from a Harrier electronic log and heading from a Halcyon transmitting compass and continuously displays the north-south and east-west components of the water distance traversed from a starting position. The computer has been designed to operate and to display its output in cartesian coordinates. A description of the device including a schematic diagram is provided. An evaluation is made of its advantages and disadvantages.
