TOWARD ECONOMIC SMALL CATCHMENT DRAINAGE DESIGN
This paper describes in detail the BSC Stormwater Drainage Computer Program and the BSC Longitudinal Sections Plotting Option which are mounted on the Control Data Australia Cybernet Services network. The authors demonstrate with a typical stormwater drainage scheme how the Program may be utilised to produce significant construction cost savings. They argue that the Program is a sophisticated design aid which should be used by those planners and designers who are looking to optimise their system costs. A complete design example is provided as an Appendix to enable clarification of points discussed throughout the paper. The authors conclude with a call for revision of current stormwater design procedures.
