PREVENTION OF NOISE ON THE RAILWAYS IN THE CONTEXT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
DIE LAERMABWEHR DER EISENBAHNEN IM RAHMEN DES UMWELTSCHUTZES
After discussing the origin of noise in the environment, the author deals with noise caused by railway equipment. The ORE has already defined standard regulations as to the points at which measurements should be taken, and measuring procedures. These rules are given in the DIN standardisation documents. He then examines conditions and special requirements for noise control, and results obtained through certain measures and installations which have already proven satisfactory. He gives detailed figures for these results.
