LE MOTEUR ASYNCHRONE EN TRACTION ELECTRIQUE

The author describes in particular the operation of the inverters, the supply to the intermediate direct current circuit and the advantages of "2-quadrant" and "4-quadrant" pulsating rectifiers. He describes the Swiss BE 4/4 12 001 experimental locomotive, and discusses future prospects for this method of traction.
