VIDEO TAPES CAN PROVIDE TRAINING AND ENTERTAINMENT AT SEA
More than 500 vessels have been fitted with onboard color video cassette players used for entertaining and training. Programs range from full-length feature films to National Football League and NCAA highlights. An increase in morale among crewmen has been noticed since the systems have been installed. As a training tool it is felt that use of video cassettes has certain psychological advantages over other media and reduce shoreside training time.
