SEA-LINK AND SEEBECK SYSTEMS DESIGNED FOR GREATEST POSSIBLE RELATIVE MOTION
Ths Sea-Link and Seebeck tug-barge systems are designed to permit the greatest possible degree of relative motion between the tug and barge. The major element of the Sea-Link design is the pushing frame, which is hinged to the stern of the barge and pinned to the side of the tug. The connecting system of the Seebeck system consists of a ball-type coupling which extends from the bow of the tug and connects by hydraulic energy-absorbing devices to a 'trolley' riding in vertical guide bars fitted to the stern of the barge. Both systems can be installed on existing tugs and barges.
