CONTINUOUS ACOUSTIC MONITORING OF BRIDGES
This paper describes the application of acoustic monitoring systems on a number of projects, particularly the Bronx Whitestone Bridge in New York. Reference is made to systems on the Alex Fraser Bridge in Vancouver, The George Washington Bridge in New York and a structure at Huntingdon in the UK. Extended acoustic monitoring systems are presented, which provide Damage Surveillance, show Seismic Response and allow interrogation of data on a dedicated Structure Internet Site. Background details of the development are given. For the covering abstract see ITRD E106406.
