A SAMPLE ALGORITHM FOR COMPUTING LOAD DISTRIBUTION IN MULTI- BEAM BRIDGE DECKS
The methods used to estimate the distribution of loading in bridge decks, in the design process, are ususally not suitable for use in analysing the behaviour of the deck under abnormal loads. The analytical methods which can be used are, in general, time consuming, unsuitable for desk top calculation, and may require the use of major computing facilities. Simple models of behaviour for most bridge types can be used however, as a first approximation when time and computation facilities are not available. An outline of a particular simplification applicable to multi-beam bridge decks is given. /Author/
