SmartAHS and SHIFT Enhancements, Persistence and Query Interpretation
This report describes the fine-tuning of the development of SmartAHS a software system for microsimulation of automated highway systems (AHS) design and scenarios. SmartAHS is used for design, analysis and evaluation of AHS, and pre-AHS or AHS deployment concepts and scenarios in dimensions of system performance, safety and comfort. SHIFT, the SmartAHS/Hybrid Systems Tools Interface Format, is the simulator for user-defined AHS architectures. SHIFT also provides specifications for a high-level language used to specify AHS-specific models for highway layout, vehicle dynamics, actuators and sensors.
