SYNTHESIS OF SNOWMELT RUNOFF HYDROGRAPHS
A generalized proceedure is suggested for synthesis of snowmelt runoff hydrographs, exclusive of the effects of incident rainfall, for use in regions with limited hydrologic data. Third procedure, referred to as the Dimensionless Snowmelt Hydrograph (DSH), incorporates a hydrograph profile for at least one runoff event directly in the methodology. Basic data requirements include mean daily temperature and streamflow along with representative water equivalent values for the drainage basin. Examples of applications to several Sierra Nevada drainage basins are analyzed and limitations of the procedure considered. /Author/
