TRANSPORTATION MODELS, USEFUL POLICY INSTRUMENTS?
VERKEERSMODELLEN, NUTTIJE BELEIDSINSTRUMENTEN?
Transportation models can be divided into groups; these include growth factors and aggregated models. The people ultimately using results obtained with these models are mostly inexperienced in the field of transportation modelling such as policy makers, representatives, civil servants and pressure groups. They require the models and their applications to be clear and they need to be able to decide on the best alternative unaided. This article states that aggregated models meet these requirements best. The development of the simple pres-model is presented. /TRRL/
