STABILITY OF EMBANKMENT ON LOW-BEARING TERRAIN
STABILNOST NASIPA NA MALO NOSIVOM TERENU
The problem of embankment stability on low bearing terrain especially in high class road construction is very delicate. Such terrains have very bad geomechanical characteristics and consequently very low bearing capacity. In the case of the higher embankment and the considerable thickness of the low bearing courses the result is often the fracture of the ground below the embankment. The author presents some graphs which make it possible to solve the problem of stability of the embankment on low bearing terrain in a very easy manner. /TRRL/
