A SIMULATION MODEL FOR AIRPORT CAPACITY AND DELAY ANALYSIS
The most significant part of airport delays occurs during the taxi-out phase, due mainly to departure air space congestion; another important cause of delay is arrival air space congestion. This article examines mainly delays caused by interference among aircraft flying along the final approach path and landing. The main result of the study has consisted of setting up simulation-based procedure to represent the system running with a high level of detail, limited only by computational power.
