QUALITY CONSIDERATIONS FOR RAILROAD ROLLER BEARING GREASES

Certain aspects of grease quality are presented which are of major importance in greased railroad roller bearing performance. The grease components or properties which are most likely to affect each of these quality aspects are discussed. Similarly, for each aspect of quality presented, inspection tests are suggested to 1) evaluate the quality level of a given grease product, and 2) insure the maintenance of this quality level in subsequent preparation of the same grease.
