STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS - NON LINEAR BEHAVIOUR AND TECHNIQUES. PROCEEDINGS OF SYMPOSIUM AT TRRL, 11-12 DECEMBER 1974

These papers present a summary of recent knowledge in many countries on non-linear as distinct from linear elastic structural analysis. Theoretical papers are included describing the development of analytical methods, and more practical papers outlining experimental work to establish behaviour under different types of loading. The papers include: (1) New development in theory and method of analysis for inelastic plates and shells, by Yam, LCP; (2) An elementary study of non-linear buckling phenomena in stiffened plates, by Walker, AC and Davies, P; (3) Viscoplasticity as a computational model for deformation and collapse studies, by Zienkiewicz, OC; (4) Historical deformation analysis of elastoplastic structures a a parametric linear complementarity problem, by De Donato, O and Maier, G; (5) Collapse analysis of box-girder components using finite elements, by Crisfield, MA; (6) Finite difference method for non-linear plate problems and parametric study, by Yam, LCP; (7) Some approaches to the non-linear analysis of plated structures, by Dowling, PJ; (8) On a general purpose progrsm for non-linear finite element analysis with special reference to material behaviour, by Marcal, PV; (9) Non-linear response of bridges, by Argyris, JH, Dunne, PC, Angelopolous, T, Kundson, WC; (10) some observations of three dimensional plasticity computations, by Hellen, TK; non-linearity and limit-state design of complete composite structure, by Wood, RH; (12) Some practical aspects of non-linear analysis in design, by Knowles, NC, Razzaque, A, and Spooner, JB; (13) Application of minimum cost optimization to limit-state design, by Wills, J, and Yam, LCP; (14) The checking of safety of non-linear structures, by Ferry Borges, J; (15) Non-linear behaviour of stiffened diaphragms in a steel box girder, by Loe, JA and Irwin, CAK; (16) The ultimate shear load behaviour of longitudinally reinforced plate girders, by Rockey, KC, Evans, HR and Porter, DM; (17) Ultimate strength design of wide stiffened plates loaded axiallyand normally, by Ostapenko, A; (18) Non-linear analysis and limit-state design of reinforced concrete slabs, by Yam, LCP and Cattley, RF; (19) Ultimate strength of cellular concrete box beams, by Morley, CT and Spence, RJS; (20) Non-linear effects in prestressed concrete beams, by Irwin, CAK and Loe, JA; (21) Overload behaviour of a one tenth scale micro-concrete model of a multicell prestressed concrete box bridge, by Garas, FK and Chalmers, AG; and (22) Finite element determination of non-linear behaviour of reinforced concrete plates and shells, by Schnobrich, WC. /TRRL/
