TRANSPORTATION: A SIGNIFICANT PARAMETER WHEN ANALYSING LONG RANGE AND DEVELOPMENT COSTS
Planning for the extension of city boundaries requires an analysis of numerous planning and engineering issues, including a study of the requirements for water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer services, plus a review of transportation facility requirements. The purpose of this paper is to compare development costs for alternative directions of growth in the City of Calgary. The paper also indicates the mangitude of transportation development costs compared with servicing (water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer) development costs.
