A TRANSPORT DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM
Scales for weighing vehicles in motion have been developed in response to the need for reliable input data for the development of effective pavement design procedures and pavement management programs. The scale also provides the information necessary to tabulate: (1) total vehicles, (2) vehicle classification, (3) vehicle speeds, as well as (4) axle and vehicle weights. This paper discusses this extra data acquisition and use.
