A PROFILE OF URBAN GOODS FLOW IN CALGARY
The purpose of this paper is to present a summary of the movement of goods and trucks in Calgary. The organization of this paper reflects the pattern in which data was collected. Following the introduction, the pattern of goods movments in Calgary is developed and all data presented relates to how, when and in what state the goods move. Subsequently, operation of the present delivery system (trucks) is detailed giving the truck origin destination pattern and delivery vehicle characteristics. Finally, the operation at the origin and destination endpoints of the truck trip is explored and descriptions of the endpoints as well as their operations are presented.
