STUDY ON THE POSSIBILITY OF INLAND WATERWAY TRANSPORT ON THE ISHIKARI RIVER. IN: MARINE TECHNOLOGY V
The paper presents a basic exploration of the practicality of using the Ishikari River in Japan as a transport corridor. It focuses, on the economic side, on transportation costs and looks into what cost savings could be achieved by shifting logistics currently carried by truck inland from Ishikari Bay New Port to the river. On the feasibility side, possible navigation routes based on the river's physical characteristics are analyzed.
