EXPERIMENTAL INJECTION OF EPOXY RESIN INTO THE DUCT OF A PRESTRESSED TEST BEAM
INIZIONE SPERIMENTALE CON SISTEMI EPOSSIDICI DI QUAINE DI UNA TRAVE DI PROVA PRECOMPRESSA
This paper examines the results of injecting epoxy-based grout into the ducts of a prestressed experimental beam. The research was carried out to determine the adhesion between the tensioned strands and the resin filling, and the amount of filling required in the sheath. Results showed that the use of epoxy resin was technically valid from both these aspects, but was considerably more costly than normal grouts. For this reason the system examined is justified only in special cases such as: strengthening beams in an exposed position adjoining existing beams; beams of complex shape, or in positions which make injection difficult; and beams which for various reasons can be subjected to conditions which cause the anchorages to function less efficiently. /TRRL/
