TRAFFIC REGULATION TECHNIQUE: AN INSTRUMENT FOR CONTROLLING THE TRAFFIC
VERKEERSREGEL TECHNIEK: INSTRUMENT TOT BEHEERST VERKEER
An introduction is given to a system of consigning traffic queues to positions in the road network where they can be "stored" so that only a volume of traffic that the city can accept without congestion is admitted. Methods are given of controlling public transport vehicles, not only by speeding up the delayed vehicles by extension of green traffic signal phases but also by delaying buses and trams which are ahead of their time tables. Several strategies and tactical schemes are given. /TRRL/
