TRUCK COSTING MODEL FOR TRANSPORTATION MANAGERS
A software model was developed to estimate truck costs under different equipment configurations, input prices, and gross vehicle weights. The software was developed to obtain costs for many different configurations and trip characteristics. Important conclusions that can be drawn from running simulations include the sensitivity of costs and equipment use, wait time and trip distance, labor, and fuel price. The relationships of cost variables and the cost of operations are important for trucking companies and shippers.
