FLOW PAST A SUPERVENTILATABLE FOIL UNDER THE FREE SURFACE OF A HEAVY FLUID

A system of integral equations is obtained for determining the load on a thin foil, the cavity thickness, and the buoyancy of the cavity under the action of a free surface given the assumptions of small-wave theory. In the case where the foil is moving at a great distance from the free surface a small-parameter method is proposed for solving the system of integral equations. In this case the reciprocal of the square of the Froude number is taken as the small parameter.
