A FIELD STUDY OF THE PERFORMANCE OF BRIDGE DECK WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS IN ONTARIO

In 1971 an investigation of waterproofing systems in use was carried out. The resulting report recommended abandonment of the emulsion membrane waterproofing system and the use of new types of waterproofing methods. The newly developed flexible membrane described as hot rubberized asphalt was adopted for use on the more flexible structures while mastic other waterproofing systems have been used experimentally up to the present. This report discusses the current investigation and field studies of these new waterproofing systems.
