Goods movement in the New York metropolitan area is an increasingly important issue as regional agencies and businesses struggle to deal with a growing list of challenges, including traffic congestion, channel depth, inadequate facilities, and a number of logistical problems. These problems challenge the delivery and movement of goods and drive up the cost of doing business in the New York metropolitan area. This compendium was prepared as a resource for members of the public who are interested in goods movement in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.
