BUILDING UNDERNEATH RAILWAY INSTALLATIONS
UNTERBAUUNG VON BAHNANLAGEN
The author takes the example of Essen's Central Station and shows how it is possible to gain precious space for passenger service installations when expanding or rebuilding stations. He describes the type of buildings possible and their location underneath railway installations. He also explains the advantages of this type of solution in urban areas and makes suggestions about architectural aspects.
