EXPLORING TRAFFIC SYSTEMS BY ELASTICITY ANALYSIS OF NEURAL NETWORKS. IN: NEURAL NETWORKS IN TRANSPORT APPLICATIONS
This paper discusses the common theme of using neural networks, coupled with a technique of elasticity analysis, in order to reach a better understanding of transportation related problems. Elasticity analysis is defined as the systematic exploration of an input-output process by observing how the output changes with respect to the input. The work described concentrates on backpropagation neural networks which have been found to be a particularly suitable and widely used paradigm in transportation.
