DELTANET: THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM FOR THE DELTA METROPOOL
DELTANET: HET OPENBAAR VERVOERSYSTEEM VOOR DE DELTAMETROPOOL
In the 'Delta Metropool' project, ideas are set forth on the future urbanization of the Dutch Randstad. In this project, a search is made for possibilities for improving the attractiveness of transport in this area, in a different way than especially by car, so that a substantial contribution can be provided to the realization of more synergy between the urban areas in the 'Delta Metropool'. These possibilities are in a better multi-modal organization of the passenger transport in this area. The future public transport system on a regional scale for the Randstad in this case 'Delta Metropool' forming part of it, is indicated as 'Deltanet'. 'Deltanet' as a public transport system for the 'Delta Metropool' is worked out on a conceptual level exemplified by the Dordrecht-Rotterdam corridor. The emphasis lies, among other things, on possibilities for improvement in the short term with respect to road public transport as well as on preconditions with regard to the organization and implementation of 'Deltanet'.
