TURNING THE NEW REALITY INTO REALITY: LESSONS FROM EUROPE
With greater European ties and a growing European transportation policy, attitudes regarding transportation in Britain have changed. This paper will discuss the relatively successful development of integrated transportation strategies in Europe, particularly recent developments in Britain. In the face of government change in Canada, there is a great potential to establish the necessary institutional structures to implement truly integrated transportation plans. With reference to European plans, the paper will illustrate the key ingredients in developing integrated transportation strategies.
