LOAD-SUPPORTING CAPABILITY OF LOW-VOLUME ROADS
Recognizing a need for quantitative behavior information for design and evaluation of low-volume roads, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers developed criteria that cover lesser quality bituminous-surfaced structures, earth roads, and aggregate-surfaced roads to serve military needs. The criteria presented are intended for use in developing or assessing behavior at little used and expedient facilities for military purposes, timber access, pipeline inspection, construction site service, large installation guard roads, recreation access, and the like.
