IMPROVEMENT OF ROAD SAFETY BY COMPUTER-AIDED TRAFFIC-SAFETY MANAGEMENT AND "INSTANT"-MEASURES BETWEEN 1996 AND 1998 IN BRANDENBURG, GERMANY
This paper describes experience in Brandenburg, Germany with technical measures to avoid traffic accidents on rural roads. This special program was part of the Traffic Safety Management program begun 1n 1992 which introduced "Instant" Measures plan. The plan was to reduce the accident cost with low cost measures that can be installed quickly. This paper examines the results of that research.
