FORD KNOWS THIS GREAT MEXICAN PLACE
Ford Motor Company's medium-duty commercial truck business is alive and well in Cuautitlan, Mexico. A veteran observer of the truck industry noted the Mexican operation is well developed and fitted with attractive components. The sturdy trucks produced there are selling well both in the United States and Mexico. A pair of new medium-duty models were developed to give the Mexican operation something distinctive to sell. Both of the new medium models offer wheelbases ranging from 158 in. to 260 in. and are designed to compete strictly in the straight truck market. The models have been reengineered for low effort steering, tighter turning circles, a pleasant ride whether loaded or unloaded, and improved front and side visibility. Luxury touches with high driver appeal are numerous and include air conditioning, power windows, and door locks, air-ride driver seats, and a massive front bumper.
