EVALUATION CRITERION OF ACTIVE SOILS AND ITS POSSIBLE CORRELATION

In this paper the characteristics of some samples of plastics soils were studied. Tests for the determination of liquid limit, plastic index, free sweel test, were used, and other more complete techniques as X-ray determinations of clay minerals, ionic interchange and pressure of expansion were developed in the Central Laboratory. The results obtained were compared to establish a correlation with the simple tests for rapid identification of active soils, which are performed in a Field Laboratory.
