EFFECTS OF BRUSH FRICTION ON THE OVERHEATING OF THE COMMUTATOR
EINFLUSS DER BUERSTENREIBUNG AUF DIE KOMMUTATORERWAERMUNG
With the previous method of measuring overheating of the commutator, it was only possible to do so by stopping the motor after running under load. The new method using an infra-radiation pyrometer allows measurements to be made during running. It was also observed that commutators can become overheated without current when the number of r.p.m. is very high. The author sums up the results of studies and tests on the coefficient of friction, carried out by the OBB.
