THE LOGIT MODEL - THE TRAFFIC FORECASTING MODEL OF THE FUTURE?

LOGITMODELLEN--FRAMTIDENS TRAFIKPROGNOSMODELL?

The effects of various possible planning measures must often be assessed in traffic planning. A method is needed which illustrates the effects of changes in the controlling variables. Previously used sequential models were unsatisfactory. Logit models are increasingly used for examination of choice situations, and are found to yield results in good agreement with actual events. A description is given of a study, using logit models, concerning the choice between cars and other modes, and the choice between different parking places. /TRRL/
