STUDY ON THE "ROAD ACCIDENT: PHENOMENON BASED ON THE AGE OF THE DRIVER RESPONSIBLE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, AND ON THE TIME PASSED SINCE THE OBTAINING OF THE DRIVING LICENSE
ANALISI DELL'ANDAMENTO DEL FENOMENO "INCIDENTE STRADALE," IN FUNZIONE DELL'ETA DEL CONDUCENTE RESPONSAABILE AL MOMENTO DELL'INCIDENTE, NONCHE DELLA SUA ANZIANITA DI PRIMA PATENTE
A sample of 318 accidents was examined by taking into account the driver's age and the time passed since the obtaining of his driving license, when the accident occurred. The result of the statistical study shows that an important number of accidents occur during the first years after the driving license has been obtained, and that, besides, younger drivers seem to be more liable to have an accident. Moreover due to the lack of any information about the division of drivers by groups of age, it is impossible to know the percentage of drivers who have caused an accident, out of the total of drivers in each class of age. In fact, it seems obvious to think that the number of drivers at the wheel lessens in proportion as they get on in years. In this case, the greatest probabilities of accidents should not necessarily concern younger drivers.
