THREE X 80 SAFETY CAMPAIGN - AT LAST - COMMUNITY HELP FOR TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT
Launched in 1974 by the Highway Users Federation, the National Safety council, and 40 other national organizations, this campaign focuses on eight priority activities: getting people to buckle up, getting the drunks off the road, better emergency medical services, traffic engineering and safety construction improvements, reducing pedestrian fatalities, upgrading driver performance, improving youth safety programs and education, and putting someone in charge of traffic safety in local governments. (The Highway Users Federation is a national non-profit organization supported by 600 businesses, industries, and associations to promote traffic safety and more efficient highway transportation).
