ANALOGUE 1000

Indiana State Policy studied 1000 fatal traffic accidents to attempt to discover information of the causes of such accidents. Analysis of the data indicated the following major causes - alcohol and drug consumption, lack of driving experience, willful traffic violations, mechanical defects, and even suidical motives. Drivers in certain vocations are more likely to make driving errors, and are least likely to be reached by safety campaigns. A history of traffic arrests and minor accidents has little to do with the probability of a driver's having a fatal accident. By and large fatal accidents seem to be chance occurrences.
