HEART INFARCT PATIENTS AS CAR DRIVERS
The author discusses the question of whether persons who have suffered a heart infarct represent a greater risk factor in traffic than healthy individuals. An investigation was made of 50 persons. The period since the infarct ranged from one month to over one year. The patients examined wore an ECG tape recorder for 24 hours. All of them drove a car, both in city traffic and on country roads for 3.5 hours on average. In no case did car driving give rise to an ECG picture which diverged from that seen in other daily activities. /Author/
