CITY OF WINNIPEG PUBLIC TRANSIT STUDY. APPENDIX A BACKGROUND MATERIAL

The City's adopted policy on public transit states that "the City supports the principle of emphasizing the role of public transport for the movement of persons to and from the downtown area and other centres which attract large concentrations of people." Therefore, the major areas of employment concentration were identified, and this report discusses the mode of travel to the major employment areas including the existing transit travel speeds to downtown, modal the other major employment areas.
