FEASIBILITY STUDIES OF NUCLEAR POWERED CONTAINERSHIPS
The present thesis deals with the question of Feasibility Studies of Nuclear Powered Containerships in three distinct cases. First, where the ships were designed to operate optimally; second, the investigation of economies of scale; and third, the influence of speed variation. Attempt is made to investigate thoroughly the under lying factors influencing the governing parameters. The results indicate that the nuclear vessel becomes superior to the conventional at high speeds. The author points out regions where care has to be exercised in interpreting the results.
