CORROSION INFLUENCE ON BOND BETWEEN STEEL AND CONCRETE. DISCUSSION AND CLOSURE
A discussion of a paper with the aforementioned title by L. Amleh and S. Mirza, published in this journal (Volume 96, Number 3, May-June 1999), is presented. The discussers raise 11 questions on the authors' works dealing with the strength of cement used in the experiments, concrete curing, the relation between electrochemical potentials and corrosion level or crack width, the corrosion removal process, weight loss, the width of longitudinal cracking, chloride profiles, nominal bond stress, average crack width, the measuring of corrosion pit depths, and experimental crack loads. Discussion is followed by closure from the authors.
