"HILLI": MOSS ROSENBERG'S FIRST 125,000 CU M LNGC
The 72,480 tdw LNG Carrier "Hilli" has a length oa of 293.00 m, a beam of 41.60 m, a draft (summer) 11.70 m and is powered by a Kvaerner Brug/GE MST-14 double reduction geared, cross compound impulse steam turbine developing 38 000 shp at a propeller rpm of 105 giving a service speed of 19.7 knots. The cargo containment system comprises six self-supporting spherical aluminum tanks, each sphere suspended at the equator by a vertical cylindrical skirt the upper part being made of aluminum and the rest of steel. Cargo capacity is 125,000 cu m.
