NEW SMALL IS B-EAUTIFUL
The new B600 low speed engine is a crosshead type capable of burning safely the lower grades of fuel oil. The characteristics are cylinder bore 600 mm, piston stroke 1250 mm, speed 150 rpm, Mep 11. 9 kg/sqcm 2, mean piston speed 6. 3 m/sec. The engine can be built with from five to ten cylinders. The bedplate has closely spaced feet consisting of cast steel cross-members welded to longitudinal steel plate girders, a box-type frame of welded plate, water-cooled pistons and forged steel cylinder heads drilled for effective water cooling.
