PLATFORM DESIGN WILL FIT S.E. ASIA
Environmental conditions allow the use of lighter, less complicated offshore structures in Southeast Asia. The design of two typical offshore platforms is shown and discussed. For convenience, the design of the structure is separated into three general areas: the design for gravity loads; the design for horizontal loads; and the design for installation loads. Differences in the structural design of the platforms to accommodate the variation in site conditions are also discussed.
