UNUSUAL CONSTRUCTION METHOD USED TO BUILD UK DOCK
The reinforced-concrete wall panels were put down before excavating the entrance lock for Bristol's West Dock project in Great Britain. This allowed gate construction before excavation was completed. The method was adapted from a technique used to build highway underpasses.
