A FANTASTIC GOAL FOR BRAZIL
This article describes activities in Brazil towards deploying Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects. An overview is given of projects taking place in the major cities. The advanced technologies that are being applied include: automated toll collection, urban traffic control systems, electronic traffic enforcement, automatic vehicle location (AVL) systems for public transit, adaptive control systems for traffic signals, and real-time incident and traffic management systems.
