ISTEA II ON HOLD : SMART CAR EFFORT MOVES AHEAD

This article describes how despite the fact that funding for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) has been put on hold until next year, supporters are still looking for resources. It also discusses how the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is moving ahead with plans for the Intelligent Vehicle Initiative (ITI), where emphasis will be on smart cars rather than smart roads.
